How do you adapt a classic work of literature to the stage?

This is a riveting sixty minute documentary that will leave its audience with a better understanding of the creative process behind live theater.

From the first reading through full dress technical rehearsal, our cameras follow the people responsible for the production of Fahrenheit 451's South Florida premiere, a new and daring adaptation of the original play.

Two cameras capture the relationship between the actors, set and sound designers and the director, as they make their way thru the creative process giving the audience a rare look behind the scenes.

GableStage has consistently been at the foreground of bringing a variety of cutting edge plays to South Florida. Each season, one play is chosen for additional performances for the Miami Dade County Public High Schools and Middle Schools.

In addition to behind the scenes footage the program provides interviews with director Joseph Adler, the cast and designers as well as getting feedback from students after their viewing of Fahrenheit 451.

Additionally, 85 year old author Ray Bradbury provides his insight into this incredible piece of literature that has defined his career.
