  Irene Adjan

IRENE ADJAN (Mary Jane) is pleased to be making her debut at GableStage with The Dead. Most recently she appeared as Rhetta in Pump Boys & Dinettes at the Hollywood Playhouse, Dorothy Parker in At Wits End at Florida Stage, Sally in You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown at Actors' Playhouse, and Emma in Tell Me On A Sunday at the Caldwell Theatre Company. Irene is a proud member of the South Florida theatre community and a five-time Carbonell nominee, having won the award for her portrayal of The Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Actors' Playhouse. Other favorite roles include Mabel in Mack and Mabel, Katie in A Tree Grows In Brooklyn (Royal Palm), Fanny Brice in Funny Girl (Parker Playhouse/Actors' Playhouse), Woman #2 in Little By Little, and Judith in The Disputation with Theodore Bikel (Coconut Grove Playhouse).


  Sheila Allen

SHEILA ALLEN (Mrs. Malins) is thrilled to making her debut at GableStage especially in this glorious adaptation of The Dead. Since moving to Florida twelve years ago, Sheila has appeared in over 40 productions. Her favorite roles include Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd (Parker Playhouse), Mrs Higgins in My Fair Lady (Jupiter Theater), Eleanor in No Sex Please We're British (Naples Dinner Theater) and most recently as Sue in Last Summer at Bluefish Cove (Public Theater). She also played the Duchess opposite Bruce Adler in Me and My Girl at the Amaturo. Sheila toured the Far East as Mrs Corney in Oliver, which starred Bill and Susan Seaforth Hayes and included a Royal Command performance before the King and Queen of Malaysia. Great to be working with Joe again!


  Stephen G. Anthony

STEPHEN G. ANTHONY (Gabriel) is delighted to be making his return to GableStage, having appeared as Henry in last season's production of The Real Thing, for which he received a Carbonell nomination for Best Actor. Local audiences may also remember Steve's Carbonell-winning portrayal of Man #2 in several area productions of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change. Other recent appearances include: Pump Boys and Dinettes; Game Show; One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest and The Pavilion. Filmgoers and television viewers have seen Steve in: Wrestling Ernest Hemingway (with Robert Duvall, Richard Harris, and Shirley MacLaine); Mission of the Shark (with Stacy Keach, Richard Thomas, and David Caruso); B.L. Stryker (with Burt Reynolds, Ossie Davis, and Rita Moreno); and several episodes of Miami Vice. Steve also has numerous regional and national commercials to his credit, having hawked such products as Esserman Nissan, Toyota Camry, Miller Genuine Draft, Lincoln Town Car, Vick's 44, Thompson's Water Seal, GreenSweep and the Florida Lottery. Though he was raised in South Florida, Steve spent a good deal of time in New York studying his craft before returning with his wife, actress Kim St. Leon, to raise their children, Tierney and Dylan. Following the success of their short film, The Best Man, Steve and Kim recently co-starred and associate-produced the acclaimed independent film Sunday Morning, and are currently in the process of producing another feature film. Steve wishes to thank Joe Adler for his unwavering passion and dedication to the creation of fine theatrical art in South Florida. And all this without bringing in "New York" talent. Imagine that...


 J. Douglas Blevins

J. DOUGLAS BLEVINS (Bartell D'Arcy) Doug is excited to be a part of the GableStage family and to be working with such a talented cast. Doug relocated from NYC two years ago after spending a fantastic year as the understudy for TV Star, John Davidson in the first national tour of Rogers and Hammerstein's, STATE FAIR. Doug also toured nationally in the Houston Grand Opera's Daughter of the Regiment and The Marriage of Figaro. Across the country, Doug has been seen in the leading roles of Sky Masterson-Guys and Dolls, Frank Butler-Annie Get Your Gun, Judd-Oklahoma, Miles-Forum, Sid-Pajama Game, and Nick Arnstein-Funny Girl. Doug made his South Florida debut at the award winning Florida Stage in the Mr. Abbott, A Broadway Legacy. Thanks to Jay and the family for your love and support.


  Kay Brady

KAY BRADY (Aunt Julia) is thrilled to be at GableStage working with Joe Adler! Hailing from Allentown, PA, she apprenticed in summer stock in PA, majored in theater at Ithaca College, NY. and has performed in 100's of theatrical productions from Aruba to Canada. Kay has been recognized twice for the Ft. Lauderdale Moretti Awards and has received 5 Carbonell Award nominations for excellence on stage. Some of Kay's theatrical highlights include Marion in Music Man (Country Dinner Playhouse), Agnes in I Do, I Do (Golden Apple) and Gooch in Mame (Showboat Dinner Theatre on Florida's west coast). She has performed at Caldwell Theatre Company for 6 years as part of their original Caldwell Cabaret, and in their mainstage productions of Over Here, The Barretts of Wimpole Street, Light Up The Sky (Carbonell nomination), The Circle and Look Homeward Angel. At Royal Palm Dinner Theatre, Kay starred in The Sound Of Music (Maria), South Pacific (Nellie, Carbonell nomination), Company (Amy, Carbonell nomination), Follies (Sally), Take Me Along (Lily) and Madame Dindon in La Cage Aux Folles (Carbonell honorable mention), a role she reprised at The Broward Stage Door. Kay's versatile voice can be heard on radio and television commercials throughout the US and Canada. When not on stage, she can be found traveling with her life's companion, bassist Rupert Ziawinski. She dedicates this performance to her mother.


  Robin Brooke

ROBIN BROOKE (Rita) is delighted to be making her debut at GableStage. She returns to South Florida after an absence of 12 years and has recently appeared in Denver as Lina Lamonte in Singin in the Rain, in Michigan as Carlotta in Phantom, and in London in a BBC radio drama. Other credits include Annie Get Your Gun (Annie), On the Verge (Fanny), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Titania), and Guys and Dolls (Adelaide). Robin studied at American University in Washington, DC and HB Studios in NYC, and is an avid musician. She is also a newly licensed Realtor (who isn't?) and resides in Ft. Lauderdale with her new husband, Ian.


  John C. Brown

JOHN C. BROWN (Michael) comes to Florida having just finished a successful run as Jesus in Godspell for the Sierra Repertory Theatre in Sonora California; where he also played Mordred and Merlin in Camelot earlier this year. Last year he performed on Broadway as Roderigo in a revival of Babes in Toyland at Lincoln Center and originated the role of Johnny Busterkeys in Sacco and Vanzetti: A Vaudeville for the People's Light and Theatre Company in Malvern, PA. John was a company member for four summers at the Barn Theatre in Augusta, MI, where he played everything from the Artful Dodger in Oliver to Spats Palazzo in Some Like It Hot. Needless to say, he is very excited about making his Florida debut with GableStage.


  Julie Burdick

JULIE BURDICK (Lily/Young Julia) is delighted to be making her debut at GableStage with such a fantastic cast. South Florida audiences may remember her as Nurse Flinn in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, and from an ensemble role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, both at Actors' Playhouse, or as Rosie in Sweet Charity at Miami Shores Performing Arts Center. Some other favorite roles include Peggy in 42nd Street, Chava in Fiddler on the Roof, Leo in Nunsense II, (all Chicago credits) and the teenager in Damn Yankees at Riverside Theater in Vero Beach. As always, Julie would like to thank her great, wonderful, amazing husband Doug for all his love and support, and for the best years of her life.


  Kimberly Daniel

KIMBERLY DANIEL (Aunt Kate) has been on stage for nearly fifty years, singing musical theatre, cabaret and pop, classical and country. She has cried and laughed, sung or talked her way through more than 200 productions. National credits include Wolf Trap, North Shore Music Theatre, National Symphony Orchestra, Lincoln Center Concerts, Yale Repertory Theatre, International Bach Society, NBC, ABC, CBS television, WQXR and WGBH Radio. Locally, Daniel co-founded New Theatre with husband Rafael de Acha, and has performed over thirty roles with the company receiving numerous awards, including a Carbonell. An adjunct Associate Professor of Voice at the University of Miami and founder/director of the Performing Arts Institute, Inc., Daniel is a member of AEA.


  Maribeth Graham

MARIBETH GRAHAM (Molly Ivors) is delighted to be back home on another South Florida stage. She comes to us directly from Amy London's production of Pump Boys and Dinettes (Hollywood Playhouse). Just prior to that, she appeared in Michael McKeever's Apron Strings at the Key West Theater Festival. While living in New York, Maribeth performed in the Off Broadway hit, Secrets Every Smart Traveler Should Know for a 2-½ year run. She is also featured on that show's original RCA cast recording. Regional credits include: Hannah in The Rothschilds and Little By Little (Coconut Grove Playhouse), Amy in Company (Caldwell Theater Company), Susie in Wit (Florida Stage New Voices Series), Kate in Uncommon Women and Others (Hollywood Blvd Theater), Youth & Asia (New Theatre) and Angry Housewives (Carbonell nomination, Best Actress in a Musical, Actors' Playhouse). Last season Maribeth enjoyed an extended run of I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change at the Florida Studio Theater in Sarasota. She has been seen and heard nationally on numerous television and radio commercials. Maribeth is proud and pleased to make her GableStage debut with Joe Adler, and oh, did she mention how delighted she is to be home?


  Sandra Ives

SANDRA IVES (Greta Conroy) feels very lucky that she has been able to do so many of the things she dreamed of as a child. She has had an opportunity to work in film, television and theater, performed with George Clooney in the feature film Out of Sight, and worked with Oscar award winning Imax director Greg MacGillivrray on Dolphins. She is so pleased to be back working with one of her favorite directors Joe Adler here at The GableStage. South Florida theatre audiences may remember Sandra as Nicki in The Actors' Playhouse Production of The Things we Do For Love, as well as Ruella in Communicating Doors the previous season. Other Florida credits include Closer and Popcorn at GableStage; the world premiere of Claudia and most recently Storyville at The Shores Performing Arts Theater. Sandra relocated from New York City, and now resides in Ft. Lauderdale with her four-year-old son, Zackery, and husband Randy. Some of her previous theater credits include roles as Sarah Brown in Guys and Dolls, Meg Magrath in Crimes of the Heart, Masha in The Three Sisters, Agnes in I Do I Do, Maria in The Sound of Music, Prudie Cupp in Pump Boys and Dinettes, Sister Amnesia in Nunsense, and Marian in the national tour of The Music Man. Sandra would like to dedicate this performance to two beautiful, strong Irish women who taught her to hold tight to family and the traditions they share, her Mother and Grandmother.


  Heath Kelts

HEATH KELTS (Freddy Malins) has appeared in the theaters in New York, California, Argentina, Virginia, Florida and Seattle. He recently played Carlino in Wait Until Dark at the Foothill Theater Company in Nevada City, California. This past summer, Heath completed his second season with The Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival, where his roles have included Proteus in the Two Gentlemen of Verona, Longaville in Love's Labours Lost, Balthasar in Comedy of Errors and Antonio in Much Ado About Nothing. South Florida audiences may recognize him from GableStage's 2000-2001 Season as Max in The Real Thing and Thomas Jefferson (among others) in Citizen Tom Paine. Other South Florida credits include Action (Juggerknot Theater Co.), Turn of the Screw, Taking Sides, Around the World in 80 Days (New Theater), and Speed-the-Plow (Area Stage). Directing credits include Sleeping Beauty or COMA, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, Macbeth Variations, and The Actor's Nightmare. Mr. Kelts earned his MFA from the University of Washington's Professional Actor Training Program, and would like to honor the memory of Dale V. Kelts with this performance.


  Bill Yule

BILL YULE (Mr. Browne) is making his debut with GableStage. He has done everything from Riff in West Side Story to Tyrone in A Long Day's Journey Into Night. He's had four Carbonell nominations: Justice William O. Douglas in Mountain; Ganesh in A Perfect Ganesh and two for City Theatre's Summer Shorts 2001. Bill was writer and star of Schweitzer and is co-writer of Boys of Mariel, a '99 GLADD award nominee for Best Play in Los Angeles.
