CYNTHIA CAQUELIN (Woman) garnered the 1995 Carbonell Award for her portrayal of Grace in New World Rep's Faith Healer (Carbonell Best Play of 1995) and "New Times Best of 1996" for Best Actress in Later Life. As a member of Screen Actor's Guild, she has appeared in over 75 national and regional commercials and has been featured in numerous films and television shows. Favorite roles include Sylvia at the Caldwell Theatre in Boca Raton, Dear Liar and Private Lives at Florida Shakespeare. Cynthia is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Miami, where she teaches Beginning and Advanced Acting for the Camera. She also is in her thirteenth year as a faculty member in the theatre division of The New World School of the Arts. After knowing Joe for over 20 years, she is thrilled to finally get this opportunity to work with him... and equally aflutter to be with this splendid cast. Her raison d'etre: husband George and daughters Tori, Shana and Debra.
JOHN FELIX (Man) ) is making his first appearance at GableStage, though this is not his first time working under Joe's direction; they worked together as far back as 1987 in The Illuminati for New World Theater. Other Florida credits: The Man Who Came to Dinner (Sheridan Whiteside), Dangerous Obsession (Barrett), You Can't Take It With You (Kolenkhov), and Art (Yvan) at Florida Repertory Theatre in Fort Myers, plus many roles at other Florida theatres. He has performed Diversions and Delights, a solo play about Oscar Wilde, at several South Florida theatres. He has been favored with multiple Carbonell Award nominations and has received the Award twice (Davies in The Caretaker and Mendy in The Lisbon Traviata, at Area Stage). He has also received the Curtain Up Award (Oscar Wilde in Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, at the Caldwell Theatre) and New Times Best Actor citations (The Lisbon Traviata, above, and Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, at Actors' Playhouse).
NICK BIXBY (Boy) is happy to return home and to GableStage. He most recently performed in Rhinoceros as a part of the Midtown International Theater Festival at the New 42nd Street Theater in NYC. He also directed and performed in Cornelius Sous Vandertramp and directed Do You Love Me? as a part of the Nutshell Theater Festival at the Manhattan Theater Source in Greenwich Village. Off stage, Nick has worked at such venues as Lincoln Center, American Place Theater, Variety Arts Theater, Classic Stage Co. and Conelly Theater with the up and coming Synapse Production Company. Locally, Nick has been seen in This Is Our Youth and Skylight at GableStage, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest at Actors' Playhouse, and Sleepwalkers and Deceptions at the Area Stage Co. Love and appreciation to friends and family who make life seem clear and bright, even through the cloud of dark eyes. Special dedication to Flappy, who is still lost at sea after the disappearance of flight 922 over the Pacific Ocean.
CLAIRE TYLER (Girl) is "over the moon" to be returning for her third performance at GableStage where she was last seen as Scout in Popcorn (Carbonell nominee for Best Supporting Actress) and Raina in Arms and the Man. Other credits include Francis in Five Women Wearing the Same Dress, Estelle in No Exit, Woman in Let Us Go Out Into the Starry Night and multiple roles in All in the Timing. She also appeared as Amy Semple McPherson in her one-woman show, Fallen. Claire is currently residing in New York, where she is mastering her craft. In April she will be appearing in her first NYU film which is being shot in Australia. Claire would like to thank Joe for the opportunity to work in this brilliant play with such an amazing cast and crew.
