MICHAEL GIOIA (Jake Manheim) ) is a Miami native and has been working in the South Florida area for over 15 years, since receiving a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Florida. As an actor, he has appeared locally as Gerardo in Death and the Maiden and Victor in Private Lives at Florida Shakespeare, David Kahn in Social Security at the Ruth Foreman Theatre, Willum in The Nerd at Actors' Playhouse, Dan in Down the Road at Area Stage and Billy/Sidney/Mark in London Suite at Brian C. Smith's Off Broadway Theatre. Some of his local directing credits include: Pathways, Photosynthesis, Talley's Folly, Danny and the Deep Blue Sea, Othello, The Speed of Darkness and Picnic. Michael is the Director of Training and an Acting instructor at the Acting Studio - South Florida, and has also served on the faculties of University of Florida, Barry University and University of Miami. Michael is happy to be making his GableStage debut and to be working with Joseph Adler once again. He dedicates this production to his students and would like to thank everyone at The Acting Studio for their support during this project.
PAUL TEI (Harry Levine) is very happy to be back home at GableStage and working with his pals, Joe Adler and Michael Gioia. South Florida credits include: the world premiere of Black Sheep at Florida Stage (New Times Best Supporting Actor), Smithereens, Never the Sinner (New Theatre); Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Actors' Playhouse); Oleanna, Speed-the-Plow, Raised in Captivity, Voir Dire, Passage, Beirut, Careless Love, The Caretaker, Baby with the Bathwater, True West (Area Stage); Endgame (Akropolis); Hard Hats (3rd St. Black Box); and Summer Shorts (City Theatre). Paul is the Artistic Director of Mad Cat Productions, where he has directed the world premieres, Helluva Halloween, Shepherd's Pie, Here in My Car, Portrait (Curtain Up Award for Best New Play and Best Director) and Shoot. Look for Mad Cat Productions' next venture in October: Seventy Scenes of Halloween. When not involved in theatrical productions, he can be found at New World School of the Arts, where he teaches theatre for the high school and college programs. Paul holds an MFA in Directing from the Goodman School of Drama at DePaul University and a BA in Theatre from Barry University. Paul has appeared on television in various commercials and TV programs, most recently on CSI and in a BellSouth spot.
