JOHN ARCHIE (Oscar) is delighted to return to GableStage where he was last seen in the Carbonell award winning drama A Lesson Before Dying John also received the Carbonell for the role of Grant in Lesson thanks to an amazing cast crew and support staff and of course Joe's terrific direction and vision. John also had the honor to appear as Malcolm X in GableStage's production of The Meeting which toured Miami Dade Public Schools and played limited engagements at the historic Lyric Theatre and GableStage. Other South Florida credits include William in Lobby Hero, Sgt. Williams in Buffalo Soldiers, Cmdr. Stone in A Few Good Men, Roger in Streamers, Blue in Ceremonies In Dark Old Men, Val in Split Second and Willie in The Root (both directed by Joe). Regional credits include Johnny in No Place To Be Somebody, Theseus in Midsummer Night's Dream, Dr. Purgon in The Imaginary Invalid and Bostic in The Robeson Place Singers, a play about the great Paul Robeson. John has many film and TV credits including Any Given Sunday, The Specialist, Garwood, Temptation, Chains of Gold, Miracle Child, Moon Over Miami, WiseGuy, and several episodes of Miami Vice. John has been blessed to appear in TV commercials, industrial films, national print ads and radio sports. He made his orchestral debut with the New World Symphony narrating the story of John Henry. John thanks God his family and friends for their continued support.
JOE KIMBLE (Dave) is thrilled to be making his first appearance at the esteemed GableStage in this production. Joe was last seen as Lucio in Juggerknot Theatre's staging of HouseGuest. Other recent credits include The Eight: Reindeer Monologues with the Imagine Stage Co. (which has just changed its name to Underdog Theatre and where Joe is a company member), Comic Potential at Actor's Playhouse, SHOOT at Mad Cat Theatre Co. (company member), Durang, Durang with Mosaic Theatre and This is a Play also with Underdog (Imagine). He is also a member of Underdog's painfully funny improv troupe "Separate Checks". Joe is a Florida boy who attended the University of South Florida and has worked locally in film and commercials for years. He would like to thank Joe Adler for taking on such a challenging production and letting him be a part of it. Also the very talented cast and crew for the hard work and love. Joe would also like to thank his Mom and Dad, whose dedication to procreation has made it all possible and so much fun. Peace.
PAMELA ROZA (Andrea) is happy to be once again performing at GableStage. Her last performance here was as Theresa in their production of Boy Gets Girl, for which she received a Curtain Up Award as well as a Carbonell nomination. Other GableStage performances include Sharla in Killer Joe (for which she received a Carbonell), Annie in The Real Thing, and Kyra Hollis in Skylight. Pamela's last role was Elizabeth Bartholomew in Murderer at Actor's Playhouse. She also received a Carbonell Award for her performance in BASH, (Medea Redux) at Juggerknot Theatre Company, and was named Best Actress in the New Times 'Best of 2002' issue.
GEORGE SCHIAVONE (Marcus) is happy to be back working with Joe Adler at GableStage. He is a veteran of three other GableStage productions. He was Jonesy the junky trombone player in Sideman, Aitkins the printer in Citizen Tom Paine and Les Kenkat the Porn Czar in Boy Gets Girl. George has recently completed three runs of one act plays at Edge Theatre this season; Deluxe Option and The Cupid Contract by Dennis Jones, Stories,Stories, Seaspray and Is Anybody There? by Roger Martin, and Shape Shifters by Jim Tommaney. George has done several stage readings this season, one of which is The Fist, a new play by Misha Shulman performed at the DelRay Theatre to two sell out audiences.
PAUL TEI (Jeffrey) is very happy to be back home at GableStage and to be working with all those great people and the huggable Joe Adler. Other GableStage appearances include: Chinese Coffee, Tape, Citizen Tom Paine, The Real Thing, Popcorn (Carbonell Award and New Times Best Actor) and Closer. Other South Florida credits: the world premiere of Black Sheep at Florida Stage (New Times Best Supporting Actor and Carbonell Nominee); The Eight Reindeer Monologues at Imagine Stage Company; Smithereens and Never the Sinner at New Theatre; Picasso at the Lapin Agile at Actors' Playhouse; Oleana, Speed-the-Plow, Raised in Captivity, Voir Dire, Passage, Beirut, Careless Love, The Caretaker, Baby With the Bathwater and True West at Area Stage; Endgame at the Akropolis; Hard Hats at 3rd St. Black Box; and Summer Shorts at City Theatre. Paul is the Artistic Director of Mad Cat Theatre Company where he directed world premieres of Helluva Halloween, Shepherd's Pie; Here in My Car, Portrait (Curtain Up Awards - Best New Play and Best Director) and Shoot, as well as the Florida premiere of Seventy Scenes of Halloween and most recently, Tin Box Boomerang. When he isn't involved in some theatrical venture, he can be found at New World School of the Arts where he teaches Theatre for the high school and college programs and at The Acting Studio. Paul holds an MFA in directing from Goodman School of Drama at dePaul University and a BA in Theatre from Barry University. Paul has appeared in commercials and television programs, most recent on CSI and in a BellSouth spot. A big shot out to Belly who pulled through like the bad ass he is.
MICHAEL D. VINES (Ron) is a native Arkansan who has been involved in the South Florida theatre scene for four years. He has performed for many audiences, ranging from Good Ol' Boys (Rednecks) in Arkansas, Texas and Georgia to Yankees in Maryland, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, and many states in between. GableStage audiences will remember him as Paul Bonin in A Lesson Before Dying (Carbonell nominee Best Supporting Actor) and his roles in Popcorn and Citizen Tom Paine. Other South Florida credits include: Action, Y2K and Mamet (Juggerknot Theatre Co.), Helluva Halloween, Shepherd's Pie, Here in my Car, Portrait and Seventy Scenes of Halloween (Mad Cat Theatre Co.) and numerous children's theatre productions at Actors' Playhouse where he is also currently playing the role of Alexander in Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Next for Michael is A Town Like Irving at New Theatre.
