in order of appearance
LAURA TURNBULL (Stevie) is thrilled to be returning to GableStage, having just worked here in Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune opposite her husband, Avi Hoffman (both were nominated for Carbonell Awards for their performances). Laura is extremely honored to have also received nominations for her work as Lenny in Crimes of the Heart and as Mrs. Johnstone in Blood Brothers, both at the Shores Performing Arts Theatre earlier this year. She has had the good fortune of working on Broadway with Sid Caesar in Sid Caesar and Co., the delight of appearing with Avi Off Broadway in Finkel's Follies starring Fyvush Finkel, and the distinct honor and pleasure of touring with Imogene Coca in Makin' Whoopee. In addition to commercials and voiceovers, some of her many credits include Menopause the Musical, Marion in Swingtime Canteen, Golde in Fiddler on the Roof, Doris in Same Time, Next Year, Rita in Educating Rita and Sister Amnesia in Nunsense. However, her most demanding, but certainly most rewarding role has been that of Mommy to her incredible daughters, Arielle and Liana.
BOB ROGERSON (Martin) marks his sixth visit to GableStage with The Goat. Other South Florida credits include performances at Actors' Playhouse, City Theatre, Caldwell Theatre Company, Florida Stage and Hollywood Playhouse. Bob continues to be active in film and television as well. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Theatre League of South Florida, and is one of the founding members of The Actors' Process, an actor's continuing study program. Since his first professional theatre production - Jacques Brel - at the Charles Playhouse in Boston in 1977, his career total is nearing the "100 Show" mark. Very near! In that time, Bob has done only one play twice. He has worked in almost every medium of the entertainment industry, and when he's not acting he chases his other passions - His Bride, Christine, and their daughter who was born during rehearsals for this show.
STEPHEN NEAL (Ross) is thrilled to be making his GableStage debut. He is even more thrilled to be working with Joe Adler again. Under Joe's direction he played the wild Reverend Eddie in Some Things You Need To Know Before The World Ends or A Final Meeting With The Illuminati and the Stage Manager in Our Town. Stephen earned his MFA in theatre from Florida State University and soon after made his South Florida debut in the Florida Shakespeare Festival's production of The Taming Of The Shrew at Vizcaya. Since then, he has made his home here and worked as an actor, producer, director, teacher and designer for many local professional and academic theatres. Favorite stage roles include Charlie in The Foreigner and the title character in New Theatre's production of Tom Walker. He had the honor of playing Tom Hawkins opposite the magnificent Barbara Sloan in the world premier of Michael McKeever's play, A Town Like Irving, and most recently appeared as Brabantio in Othello and Malvolio in Twelfth Night in New Theatre's Shakespeare Project. Stephen has appeared on screen in Miami Vice and Wise Guys and in several commercials and industrial films. Directing favorites include Taming of the Shrew, The Mikado, The Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Oklahoma! and A Midsummer Night's Dream. He is currently teaching classes in acting and theatre on the Biscayne Bay Campus of Florida International University. Stephen is happily married to Mary Ann and very proud of their children, Hali (16) and Zachary (12). He avows that, though he has made many visits to his wife's family farm in Louisiana, his relationships with livestock have always been strictly platonic.
RYAN CAPIRO (Billy) makes his GableStage debut with this production. Ryan is currently a senior at New World School of the Arts. His recent credits include the roles of Roxie's Boy/Lead Dancer in Chicago, Brad in The Rocky Horror Show and Gene/Pasco in City Of Angels. He also made his directorial debut at New World School of the Arts last season with You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Ryan would like to thank Joe, for giving him this amazing opportunity, Patrice Bailey, for allowing him to be involved with this production, Jim Randolph, for always being someone to look up to, and Paul Tei, for pushing him far enough to realize what he really loved. Extra special thanks to his mom for putting up with it all, and an even bigger thanks to his "wife" for his being here tonight . . . literally.
