JOHN FELIX (Dr. Prentice) is delighted to be back at GableStage, where he has previously performed as the Man in Edward Albee's The Play About the Baby and Henry Kissinger in Nixon's Nixon. Other recent stage roles: Lennie in Rumors and Froggy in The Foreigner at Florida Rep; Kuzovkin in Fortune's Fool, at Caldwell Theatre (2003 Best Actor Carbonell Award); Jane, Lord Edgar, Irma, etc., in The Mystery of Irma Vep at Blowing Rock Stage, North Carolina; James Tyrone in Long Day's Journey into Night at New Theatre; and Freddo in The Boys of Mariel at Teatro Avante. He has been named Best Actor by the New Times and the Sun-Post and has received the Curtain Up Award and the Carbonell Award for Best Actor.
PETER HAIG (Dr. Rance) has appeared in two other GableStage productions, Nixon's Nixon. and The Diary of Anne Frank, winning Carbonell nominations for both performances. He has been seen in about 90 roles throughout Florida in the past 25 years. During the 60s, Peter lived in New York City, graduating as a scholarship student from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and working under the direction of George C. Scott on Broadway and Joe Papp Off-Broadway. In the 70s, he completed his college education in Wilmington, N.C, where he also directed the nation's oldest community theatre, the Thalian Association. In addition, Peter was a drama specialist with the Parks and Recreation Department and founded the Willis Richardson Players, a group which presents plays by African-American authors.
SANDRA IVES (Mrs. Prentice) resides in S. Florida with her husband Randy and 6-year old son Zackery. In addition to acting, she also makes a living off-stage as Associate Director of the InsideOut Theatre Company, a S. Florida based company that builds character in children through the performing arts. On stage, Sandra was nominated for a Carbonell last season as Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her role as Elsa in The Sound of Music at Actors' Playhouse, as well as Best Supporting Actress in a Play for her performance as Meg in Crimes of the Heart at The Shores. GableStage audiences may remember Sandra as Gretta in the Carbonell Award-winning ensemble of James Joyce's The Dead. Other roles include Nikki in Actors' Playhouse production of The Things We Do for Love and Ruella in Communicating Doors, Closer and Popcorn at GableStage, the American premiere of Nora Black at The Cuillo's Center, the world premiere of Claudia and Storyville at The Shores and the National Tour of The Music Man. On Camera, Sandra has performed with George Clooney in the feature film, Out of Sight, directed by Steven Soderberg, and in the award-winning Imax film, Dolphins, directed by Greg MacGillivrray. She can also currently be seen as the clever mom in a national Florida citrus ad. Sandra would like to thank her family and friends who nurtured her along the way, and God above for all His abundant blessings.
OSCAR CHEDA (Sergeant Match) although a long-time South Florida performer, is making his GableStage debut in What The Butler Saw. Recent credits include: Little Shop of Horrors, The Sound of Music and Floyd Collins at The Actors' Playhouse. Oscar would like to thank his family and friends for their continuing support, Juan Bernardo for being the best boss in the world and Joe Adler for finally making his dream of working at the GableStage a reality.
AUTUMN HORNE (Geraldine Barclay) returns to GableStage after a wonderful summer of workshopping playwrights' newest at many area theatres including GableStage, Florida Stage, New Theatre and others. Most recently, she was seen as Linda in Blood Brothers and Rita in Prelude to a Kiss (for which she earned recognition from the Miami Sun-Post; runner-up, Best Actress), both at The Shores Performing Arts Theatre. She has been seen at GableStage as Jenny in their production of The Shape of Things (runner-up, Best Supporting actress, Miami Sun-Post), and as Harriet in Boy Gets Girl, for which she received a Carbonell nomination. Previous to that, she toured the US with several original one-acts and played Sister Albert Maria in the Philadelphia production of Tony & Tina's Wedding. Autumn can also be seen on the Independent Film Channel, USA's Arrest & Trial and in several feature films including There's Something About Mary. When not on stage, Autumn is a photographer, director, playwright and starving artist. She would like to thank the wonderful cast and crew, Mom and Seamus X for their support.
MICHAEL D. VINES (Nick) is very excited to be returning to GableStage for his fifth production. GableStage audiences may remember Michael from Tabletop (Best Supporting Actor Carbonell Nominee), A Lesson Before Dying (Best Supporting Actor Carbonell Nominee), Citizen Tom Paine and Popcorn. Originally from Arkansas, Michael has lived in Miami for four years and has performed on stages in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, North Dakota, Georgia, Maryland, Philadelphia and Tennessee just to name a few. Other South Florida credits include: Helluva Halloween, Shepherd's Pie, Here in My Car, Portrait and Seventy Scenes of Halloween (Mad Cat Theatre Company); Action, Mamet. and Y2K (Juggerknot Theatre Company); A Town Like Irving (Carbonell Nominee for Best Ensemble & Best Original Work) at New Theatre; and numerous children's theatre shows at Actors' Playhouse.
