Who's Who . . . in TRUMBO

Return
  Joseph Adler

JOSEPH ADLER (Dalton Trumbo, Aug 14 - Aug 29) has not been on stage for several decades. It is his hope that his passion for the material will compensate for his lack of recent experience in front of the footlights.

  Michael Putney

MICHAEL PUTNEY (Dalton Trumbo, Sep 2 - Sep 12) is making his first appearance on the stage. He started his career with two radio stations, (KCGM and KFRU) in Columbia, Missouri, where he also served as city editor at The Columbia Daily Tribune. In 1970 he moved to Washington DC and wrote for The National Observer. In 1977 he worked in New York for Time Inc., before The Miami Herald lured him to Florida. In 1981, Michael returned to broadcasting at WTVJ, where he became weekend co-anchor in 1986. He came to WPLG in 1989 to become senior political reporter and host of "This Week in South Florida with Michael Putney". He is Local 10's lead reporter on politics and government, and writes a semi-monthly column on politics in The Miami Herald He received a BA in English Literature from the University of Missouri, where he later completed course work toward a Master's Degree. His superior reporting skills have won him two Emmys. Michael enjoys spending time with his wife Marta and his daughter Mia, and a quirky cocker spaniel named Zoe.

  Bruce Miller

BRUCE MILLER (Christopher Trumbo - Narrator) has been the director of acting programs at the University of Miami for the last nine years, where he also heads the Acting Conservatory. He is the author of two books on acting - The Actor as Storyteller and Head-first Acting, and more than 70 published articles on theatre. Returning to the stage after a 14-year hiatus, he recently appeared in The New Theatre production of White People. He is thrilled to be able to follow that up with the chance to work with Joseph Adler at GableStage. He has worked in film, television and commercials, but considers himself primarily a teacher, and has dedicated himself to his true calling for the past 16 years. He would like to dedicate this performance to his students - from whom he has learned so much over the years - and to his wife, Amy, for her generous support and unending patience.
