LAUREN FELDMAN (Rose) is thrilled to finally work with Joseph Adler and GableStage. Recent credits include: Catherine in The Memory of Water, Catherine in Proof (Carbonell nomination) and Hanna in A Shayna Maidel at Mosaic Theatre; Sarah in Miklat at Florida Stage; Summer Shorts 2003 and 2004 at City Theatre (Carbonell Best Ensemble Nomination). Other favorite roles include Cel in The Most Massive Woman Wins, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing and Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream. Lauren is also a playwright and has worked with the Royal Court Theatre in London and World Interplay in Australia. Additionally, she has worked with City Theatre and Downstage Miami with mentors Arthur Kopit and Tina Howe. Lauren's plays have been performed internationally, and she begins graduate playwriting at Yale this fall.
AVI HOFFMANN (Shelly) is very happy to be working with Joseph Adler again, following his last appearance at Gablestage with his wife Laura Turnbull in Frankie & Johnny In The Clair De Lune, (for which they both received Carbonell nominations for Best Actor/Actress in a Play). This past year he has had the pleasure of working with Laura in Jacques Brel.... (PB Dramaworks) for which he received the Curtain Up award and a Carbonell nomination, and Closer Than Ever (Hollywood Playhouse). Other So. Florida productions include: Tevye in Fiddler On The Roof (Curtain Up Award and Carbonell nomination), Freddie Roman's Mishegas (Parker Playhouse) with Jack Carter and Tovah Feldshuh, and Songs Of Paradise (Caldwell Theater). Avi is best known for his award winning Off-Broadway productions, Too Jewish? and Too Jewish, Too!, both of which were highly acclaimed and for which he was named Performer of the Year '95 by NY Press Magazine, as well as receiving the prestigious Los Angeles OVATION award as Best Actor In a Musical 2001. He was also nominated for both the NY Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards. He directed and performed in the Joseph Papp production of Songs Of Paradise at the NY Shakespeare Festival/Public Theater. On TV, Mr. Hoffman's Too Jewish? and Too Jewish, Too! are currently being broadcast nationally on the PBS system, under the auspices of WXEL-TV and the newly created 'Fund for Jewish Cultural Programming'. He was featured as 'Teddy Wayne' in the NBC series Law And Order. He starred in the motion picture - The Imported Bridegroom and was seen in the PBS documentary They Came For Good: A History Of The Jews In The U.S. He dedicates this performance to his grandfather Chaim (z'l), who suffered at the hands of the Communist regime.
TRACEY MOORE (Naomi) most recently played the Earth Mother in Menopause the Musical here is South Florida. She also performed in readings of several new works, including Shop on Main Street at the Caldwell and The Beauty Inside at New Theatre. Before moving to Miami, Tracey toured as Emma Goldman in the National Tour of Ragtime. Other roles include Mrs. Joe in the Hilton Head Playhouse world premiere of Great Expectations and Mary Magdalene in the pre-Broadway production of Kevorkian Café. Off-Broadway, Tracey appeared in the Frank Loesser Musical, Señor Discretion (produced by Loesser's widow, Jo Sullivan Loesser) and in I Will Come Back at the Player's Theater (music by Timothy Gray). Tracey has toured nationally in Camelot with Richard Harris, and appeared regionally at the St. Louis MUNY in Annie with Rue McClanahan, A Little Night Music with Victoria Clark (Candlewood Playhouse), played the title role in Regina (York Theater) and starred as Mama Rose in Gypsy (Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma). She also has performed in the ensemble at The Metropolitan Opera and the New Jersey State Opera. In addition to performing, Tracey is Head of Voice & Movement at Florida International University's Theatre Department. ANDY QUIROGA (Morty) would like to thank Joseph Adler for the privilege of working at the GableStage. Although this is his debut production here, Andy was recently seen as David Calhoun in The Promethean Theatre's debut production of Craig Wright's, Orange Flower Water. Other recent credits include, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Perchek in Fiddler On The Roof (both at the FAU Rep. Co.) the Taxi driver in Hellcab for The Modern Stage and Raul in Extremities at the now defunct Treasure Island Studio Theatre, where he was also Co-Artistic Director. His directorial credits include the honor of directing the Carbonell Award-winning play, Tracers (Best Ensemble) with Juggerknot Theatre Company. Andy is a recent graduate of Florida Atlantic University's School of Theatre where he received his MFA. Andy has again joined the ranks of courageous teachers as the new drama instructor at Barbara Goldman High School. Andy would like to thank his mother, father and sister for putting up with the drama and his exquisite and glamorous fiancée for all her love and support.
KEVIN REILLEY (Emil) happily marks his fourth appearance at GableStage after Sideman, Citizen Tom Paine and The Diary of Anne Frank. Seen more frequently in Broward County, he may be remembered from Mosaic Theatre's production of Amadeus, Stage Door's Parade and The Nerd, and West Boca Theatre's production of Nuts. Other favorite roles were in Park Your Car in Harvard Yard, That Championship Season, Reckless, All About Eve, The Fantasticks and in Mad Cat Theatre's production of Portrait, for which he was honored with a Curtain Up Supporting Actor Award. Back near the beginning of time, Kevin studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse and at the National Shakespeare Company Conservatory.
NICK VELKOV (Fallon) is excited to be making his professional stage debut at GableStage, and to be working with such a wonderful cast. In 2003, he relocated to Florida from his native Minnesota to study theatre arts at the University of Miami, where he had the fortunate experience of capturing the role of Oliver in As You Like It. Nick wishes to thank Bruce Miller, Lowell Williams, Vince Cardinal, Stephen Svoboda and Kent Lantaff for working with him on his journey to become be an actor. Nick would also like to give special thanks to Joe Adler for teaching him more about the theatre in one month than he ever thought possible.
