BRUCE MILLER (Eric) has been seen recently in White People (Martin Baumueller) at New Theatre and in Trumbo (Chris Trumbo) at GableStage. He is the Director of Acting Programs and Head of the Acting Conservatory at the University of Miami. Bruce is also the author of "The Actor As Storyteller" and "Head-first Acting", as well as close to 80 published articles on theatre and acting. He wishes to extend thanks to Joseph Adler for this great opportunity and for his friendship, to Lowell Williams for his help, and to his family for the ongoing support. This performance is dedicated to his parents, Marvin and Jeanne Miller, who did not ask for the "little plug", and to his students who continue to inspire.
LACY CARTER (Melanie) is performing her debut at GableStage. She has been acting in South Florida for the better part of ten years. Some of her favorite roles include Maggie in Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Portia in Merchant Of Venice, Jessie in 'Night Mother and Jelena in the Southeastern Premiere of Necessary Targets. A big thank you to Joseph Adler for the opportunity to work with this wonderful company. As always, love to my son who has come home from Iraq safe - bring them all home!
BRIDGET CONNORS (Nina) is delighted to be returning to GableStage, where she was last seen as Agnetha in Frozen. She recently performed the role of Lady Macbeth at New Theatre and Mary in The Memory of Water at Mosaic Theatre Company. She has also performed at Florida Stage and Broward Stage Door. Awards include the New Times Best Actress Award, New Theatre Best Actress Award, and Carbonell and Curtain-Up nominations for Best Actress. Regions Theatre: South Coast Repertory, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, Arizona Theatre Company, Indiana Repertory Theatre, New Mexico Repertory, PCPA Theatrefest, A Noise Within, and the Santa Cruz, Colorado and Idaho Shakespeare Festivals. HOWARD ELFMAN (Manny) is delighted to be back with Joseph Adler and Company. GableStage patrons might remember him as Dussel the Dentist in The Diary of Anne Frank. He most recently appeared as the Old Man in the Take Heed Theatre Company premier production of Sam Shepherd's Fool For Love. Mr. Elfman performed multiple roles in the Palm Beach Dramaworks production of The Boys Next Door, and was Buddy in Dixie Theatre's Kimberly Akimbo. A versatile actor, he has appeared in many top-rated theaters across the country. Among his favorite roles are Joe in Early One Evening at the Rainbow Bar and Grill, Mr. Cobb in Cobb, Herman Lewis in Mixed Emotions, Flo Ziegfield in Funny Girl and Henry Ford in Camping with Henry & Tom. He also appeared at Actors' Playhouse in One Few Over the Cuckoo's Nest and in the successful tour of the Education of H*Y*M*A*N K*A*P*L*A*N with Bruce Adler. Other stage credits include The Sisters Rosensweig, Brighton Beach Memoirs, Broadway Bound, and the original production of The Grapes of Wrath with Steppenwolf Theatre Company. Film and TV credits include Each Time I Kill, Raw Deal, A Day in the Country, Rent-a-Cop, The Untouchables and Aaron Spelling's Safe Harbor. He is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association, SAG and AFTRA.
BETH MCINTOSH (Alison) is beyond thrilled to be making her GableStage debut with Brooklyn Boy. After earning a theatre degree from UF, she headed to NY for an Off-Broadway run of Fredrico Garcia Lorca's Evil Spell of the Butterfly at the Lamb's Theatre, which was nominated for 5 ACE Awards, winning for Best Play. Then it was off to Los Angeles where she jumped to the "other side" of the business and was accepted into Endeavor's prestigious Agent Training Program. With her long time mentor Yvonne Suhor, she produced and starred in the World Premiere of Beyond Java Mountain at Orlando's Studio Theatre. Now back home in South Florida, Beth is proud to be the Artistic Producer and co-founder of The Promethean Theatre (TPT) with Deborah Sherman. Some of her favorite roles include an award-winning performance as Jackie in Hot L Baltimore, Catherine in Proof and Beth Youngquist in TPT's critically acclaimed Orange Flower Water. Currently she can be seen in the film, A Much Too Open House in competition at the Ft Lauderdale Int'l Film Festival. Beth is so grateful to Joe for giving her this opportunity to discover her "inner blonde" and she encourages you to support the many theatres in South Florida, including GableStage, TPT and Mad Cat (to name a few) that continue to bring you exciting and thought-provoking work year round. MICHAEL H. SMALL (Ira Zimmer) is happy to making his Gablestage debut. A proud and longtime member of Actors' Equity Association, Michael's appearances throughout his over 30 year career have included film, television, clubs, radio and theaters all over the country.
NICHOLAS VELKOV (Tyler) is pleased to again appear at GableStage after last season's performance in A Bad Friend. In 2003, he relocated to Florida from his native Minnesota to study theatre arts at the University of Miami, where he had the fortunate experience of capturing the role of Oliver in As You Like It. Nick wishes to thank Bruce Miller, Lowell Williams, Vince Cardinal, Stephen Svoboda, Kent Lantaff and Marc Fajer for working with him on his journey to become be an actor. Nick would also like to give special thanks to Joe Adler for teaching him more about the theatre in one month than he ever thought possible.
