  Kameshia Duncan

KAMESHIA M. DUNCAN (Esther) is honored to make her debut at Gablestage and blessed to be working with such a prolific director and INCREDIBLY talented cast. Lifetime PAVAC Player, proud alumnus of Howard University (BFA), Kameshia last appeared as May in The M Ensemble's critically acclaimed production of Bourbon at the Border. Other Miami credits include: Florida Stage's (New Voices project) A Certain Species of Properties (Ona Judge), The Playground Theatre - Brooklyn Bridge (Talidia), City Theatre's Summer Shorts 2005 (Ensemble), Creative Arts Enterprise - Hannah Free (Nurse), Florida Historical Performance Company - The Prince of Haiti/King of Paris (Minette) and Coconut Grove Playhouse - The Adventures of Louie the Lizzard (Alexis). Other credits include: Atlanta Regional Theatre, Alliance Theatre Company, Seven Stages, Actors' Express, Aurora Theatre, Horizon Theatre and Synchronicity Performance Group and numerous prominent theatres. Kameshia would like to thank God for his constant guidance, and she dedicates this performance to the memory of Coretta Scott King and to her mentors Mrs. Rosylin Cox and Ms. Audrey Lampkin of Brownsville "Junior" High School. Thank you for believing in me.


  Antonio Amadeo

ANTONIO AMADEO (Mr. Marks) is proud to make his GableStage debut with Intimate Apparel. A proud member of Actors' Equity Association, Antonio sends all praise to God, thanks to friends and family, and all his love to his baby Lara and beautiful wife, Katie. Antonio would like to dedicate his performance in loving memory to his cousin, Alex Carrion: I miss you, kid.


  Lela Elam

LELA ELAM (Mayme) is thrilled to be working at GableStage, and would like to thank Joseph Adler for the opportunity. She is a New World School of the Arts graduate, and has appeared in the M Ensemble's productions of Ceremonies in Dark Old Men, Two Trains Running, Flyin' West, The Piano Lesson and Our Short Stay. Lela has also appeared in the Women's Theatre Project's productions of Necessary Targets and the Anastasia Trials in the Court of Women, as well as their staged readings. In addition, she appeared in New Theatre's production of Touch, for which she received a Carbonell nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Lela wishes to thank God for his blessings, and her parents and family for their never-ending support.


  Sandra Ives

SANDRA IVES (Mrs. Van Buren) is a proud member of the Actors' Equity Association, the Screen Actors' Guild and The American Federation of Radio and Telivision Artists. A professional working actor for over 20 years and a Resident Company Member of Inside Out Theatre Company. She resides here in South Florida with her husband Randy and 8 year-old son Zackery. Sandra has received many nominations and awards for her work. She has enjoyed working in commercials and feature films, but live stage work has always been and continues to be her first love. South Florida audiences may remember Sandra most recently as Claire Harrison in Whose Life Is It Anyway, the inaugural production for the Inside Out Theatre Company; Joanne in Mosaic's production of Because He Can; Trish Platt in House And Garden, Nikki in The Things We Do for Love. Ruella in Communicating Doors, and Elsa in The Sound of Music (for which she was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Carbonell Award for in a Musical) at Actors' Playhouse; and in the role of Meg in Crimes of the Heart at The Shores Performing Arts Theatre (for which she was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Carbonell Award for in a Play). Sandra also played Gretta in the Carbonell Award-winning ensemble of The Dead, as well as Closer, Popcorn and What The Butler Saw here at The GableStage. Sandra is so grateful to be back working with Joe Adler on the most amazing play.


  Dorothy Morrison

DOROTHY MORRISON (Mrs. Dickson) is presently living her dream. She recently retired from the Department of Children and Families after 30 years in order to take her career to the next level. In 2002, Dorothy was nominated for a Carbonell Award for the Actors' Playhouse production of Proposals. That same year, she appeared at Gablestage in A Lesson Before Dying, which won the Carbonell for Best Play. Other shows in which she has appeared include: Showboat, The Old Settler, A-My Name Is Alice, Ain't Misbehavin', The Miracle Worker, Shakin' The Mess Outta Misery, Hair, Horowitz and Mrs. Washington, Carnival, Taking My Turn, The Colored Museum, Equus, Nunsense, Tintypes, Cole, Hot L Baltimore, The Little Foxes and Don't Bother Me I Can't Cope. She has appeared in numerous commercials and print, and is featured in the movie, Any Given Sunday. Dorothy and her sister Betty also sing with the Dave Nuby Band Rhythm & Band. When she isn't singing, acting or auditioning, she works as a substitute teacher for the Broward County School Board. She thanks Joseph Adler for the opportunity to work at GableStage once again, and is very proud to be a part of such a talented cast.


  Bechir Sylvain

BECHIR SYLVAIN (George Armstrong) is the Founding Member and Vice President of the young theatre company, The Collective/Ground Up and Rising. He started his acting career at Miami-Dade Community College, where he appeared in numerous stage productions: The Miser (Mr. Anselm), Godspell (Jesus), Picnic (Howard) and many others. MDCC gave Bechir the drive to continue his studies in acting at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX. There he appeared in many productions, among which were My Children! My Africa! (Thami), The Meeting (Malcolm X), Closer (Dan) and many more. Bechir completed two and a half years at SMU, but through unfortunate circumstances, was not able to continue his studies. He was last seen as Lucius in Jesus Hopped the A-Train at Plantation in September, and some appearances on TV and in film. He is very excited to be appearing at GableStage, and is honored to be working with such a talented cast and crew. Bechir would like to dedicate all his hard work and effort to his Father, who passed away last year, and would like to thank his friends and teachers for all their support.
