ANTONIO AMADEO (Katurian) is thrilled to be back at GableStage where he was last seen as Mr. Marks in this season's critically acclaimed production of Intimate Apparel. A proud member of Actors' Equity Association, Mr. Amadeo just completed a successful run with City Theatre's Summer Shorts 2006. This past year Antonio portrayed Dr. Scott in Inside Out Theatre's inaugural production of Whose Life is it Anyway?, as well as John Merrick in Mosaic Theatre's production of The Elephant Man, for which he received his first Carbonell Award nomination. In 2007, Antonio and his wife Katherine will be starting their own theatre company called the Naked Stage with their partner John Manzelli. More information coming soon! DAVID PEREZ-RIBADA (Michal) is happy to make his GableStage debut. For the past five years, he has been in several exciting South Florida productions, most notably world premiere productions by famed Miami playwright Nilo Cruz: Hortensia, The Museum of Dreams and the 2003 Pulitzer Prize-winning Anna in the Tropics. Other world premieres include Buck Fever by Juan Sanchez (Carbonell Best New Work nominee 2005) and audio/video by Michael John Garces (Juggerknot Theatre Company - 2002 NewTimes Best Black Box Production). Recently David was proud to be in the critically acclaimed production of The Full Monty. Prior to baring it all on stage, he bared his teeth portraying the angry and confused Rosario Cortez in the South Florida Premiere of Barefoot Boy with Shoes On. One of his most memorable experiences was with the critically acclaimed ensemble for the production of Tracers with Juggerknot Theatre Company (Carbonell Best Ensemble Award). PAUL TEI (Ariel) is very happy to be back at GableStage where he appeared many times, many moons ago in Popcorn (Best Actor Carbonell Award), Tape, Chinese Coffee, Tabletop, Citizen Tom Paine, The Real Thing and Closer. Paul has worked as an actor, director and designer at City Theatre, Florida Stage, Mosaic, Juggerknot, Actors' Playhouse, New Theatre and many now defunct theatres. He is the Founder and Artistic Director of Mad Cat Theatre Company where he has directed, written, acted, designed and produced since its inception in 2000. Terminal Baggage, co-authored by he and his girlfriend, Ivonne Azurdia, is currently running through August 26th. Paul has done several films, TV shows and numerous commercials, and is a proud member of the Screen Actors Guild. Paul received his MFA in directing from The Theatre School at De Paul University in Chicago. Thank you Joe for this and all that you have done for me. GREGG WEINER (Tupolski) is thrilled to return to GableStage once again. He was last seen here as Dr. Sweet in Bug. Most recently he was seen in City Theatre's Summer Shorts Festival 2006 and appeared in the Mosaic Theatre production of Dealer's Choice. Gregg received his first Carbonell Nomination for Best Supporting Actor last year in That Championship Season at Palm Beach Dramaworks. In 2004 he won the Best Ensemble Carbonell for Tracers at Juggerknot Theatre Company. Gregg can also be seen in a few local commercials here in South Florida, and he made his big screen debut in Transporter 2 playing the Russian bad guy scientist, Tipov. Gregg would like to thank the cast and crew for their hard work and dedication, and Joseph Adler for giving him the opportunity to play such a great role.
SAMMI-JACK MARTINCAK (Girl) has appeared on local stages as Molly in Annie at Actors' Playhouse, Marta in Sound of Music at Miracle Theatre, the Messenger in Much Ado About Nothing at Miami Children's Theatre and performed the Solo/Lead in We Got the Beat at Miami Country Day. Since 2003, Sammi-Jack has been a member of GEMZ, a five-girl Pop recording group which has performed nationwide. She has also appeared in numerous commercials.
KIM St. LEON (Mother) is a 30-year veteran of film, television and theatre. Films Kim has worked on directing, producing or casting are Sunday Morning, Tour Rats, Body Story II, Golfballs, Landfall, The Best Man (award-winning short), and is slated to direct the upcoming independent feature, Lost Everything. Stage credits include Guys and Dolls and 42nd Street (New World), Summer Shorts 2004, 2005 & 2006 (City Theatre), 2005 Short Cuts Tour, The Memory of Water (Mosaic Theatre), Men Don't go to Heaven (world premiere, Alchemy Theatre Company), Zombie Prom, Five Women Wearing The Same Dress (Broward Center for the Performing Arts & Acorn Theatre), Apartment 3A (Acting Studio Stage Company), Apron Strings and This is Where We Came In (Hollywood Playhouse) and Frankie and Johnny in the Clair De Lune (Hollywood Boulevard Theatre). She is a proud faculty member at The Acting School of South Florida. She would like to thank everyone at GableStage for this wonderful experience and especially Joe. KEVIN REILLEY (Father) marks his fifth appearance at Gablestage after A Bad Friend, Sideman, Citizen Tom Paine and The Diary of Anne Frank. Seen more frequently in Broward County, he may be remembered from Mosaic Theatre's production of The Elephant Man, Public Theatre's Barefoot Boy with Shoes On, Stage Door's Parade and The Nerd, and West Boca Theatre's Nuts. Other favorite roles include Park Your Car in Harvard Yard, That Championship Season, Reckless, All About Eve, The Fantasticks, and Mad Cat Theatre's Portrait, for which he was honored with a CurtainUp supporting actor award.
KARL URBAN (Boy) is 14 years old and will be a freshman this year at New World School of the Arts in the musical theatre track. He is absolutely thrilled to be performing with such an outstanding cast for his debut at the Gablestage. Karl has performed in productions at the Actors' Playhouse, including The Sound of Music, Beauty and the Beast. Favorite roles include Oliver and Stuart Little. He has also dubbed foreign animated series from Italian to English. Karl would like to thank his family, friends and Joseph for allowing him to be a part of this amazing experience.
