SANDRA IVES (Margaret Comstock) is a proud member of the Actors' Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild and American Federation of Radio and Television Artists. A professional working actor for over 20 years, and a founding member of The Inside Out Theatre Company, she resides here in South Florida with her husband Randy and 10 year old son Zackeriah. Sandy has received many nominations and awards for her work, has enjoyed working in commercials and feature films, but live stage work has always been and continues to be her first love. Most recently she was seen as Beth Marshal in the World Premiere production of The Boy from Russia at Actors Playhouse and Grace in Faith Healer for The Inside Out Theatre Company. Other productions have included Mrs. Van Buren in Intimate Apparel at Gable Stage, Claire Harrison in Whose Life Is It Anyway (Carbonell Award nomination-Best Actress in a Play) for Inside Out Theatre Company, She has also appeared as Joanne in Mosaic Theatre's production of Because He Can, Elsa in The Sound of Music (Carbonell Award nomination-Best Supporting Actress in a Musical), Trish Platt in House and Garden, Nikki in The Things We Do for Love and Ruella in Communicating Doors at Actors' Playhouse, and Meg in Crimes of the Heart (Carbonell Award nomination-Best Supporting Actress in a Play) at The Shores Performing Arts Theatre. Earlier here at GableStage she played Gretta, in the Carbonell Award winning ensemble of The Dead, and appeared in Closer, Popcorn and What the Butler Saw. DAN LEONARD (Dr. Porter Eldridge) is pleased to be making his first appearance at GableStage. He can usually be found a bit north of here, where he has performed at Florida Stage (in 21 shows), Palm Beach DramaWorks, the Caldwell and the Hippodrome, amongst others. Fond memories include roles in The Price, Educating Rita, Copenhagen, Closer, The Crucible, How I Learned To Drive, Vincent, Denial, Molly Sweeney, and At Wit's End (a world premiere musical based on the members of the Algonquin Round Table). His most cherished role is in his own one-man show Ernie Pyle: Here Is My War. New York credits include the Lincoln Center production A Solder's Tale with Ann Reinking and Eli Wallach, Signposts at Bam, and like any NYC actor, Law & Order. JESSICA K. PETERSON (Ida Craddock) is delighted to be making her GableStage debut! Currently based out of southeast Florida, Jessica has worked at theatres across the country. She is just back from American Stage, St. Petersburg, FL where she appeared as Mrs. Holly in Suddenly Last Summer. Other recent credits include Deathtrap at the Maltz-Jupiter Theatre, the world premiere of Dairy Queen Days at Blowing Rock Stage Co., N.C.; A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings, Frozen and Anna In The TROPICS at the Hippodrome State Theatre, (Gainesville); City Theatre's 10th Anniversary of Summer Shorts (Miami); Copenhagen, Gorilla Theatre (Tampa); The Memory Of Water, Mosaic Theatre (Davie); Dinner With Friends and the U.S. premiere of A Prayer For Owen Meany, Playmakers' Rep, (N.C.). SCOTT GENN (Mario) is pleased to be making his GableStage debut with Smut. He's a proud member of the Mad Cat Theatre Company, and was last seen in their production of Animals and Plants. JIM GIBBONS (Mayor, Judge, Priest, Eddie, Brice) is very excited to be appearing at GableStage for his first time. A founding member of Sol Theatre Project in Ft. Lauderdale, Jim has appeared in many of their productions. His roles have included: Marius in The Road to Mecca, Vladimir in Waiting For Godot, Father Farley in Mass Appeal, Jacques in As You Like It, and Robert in Proof. He played multiple characters in The Mystery of Irma Vepp, Marisol, Aunt Dan and Lemon, and Drinking in America. A former high school band director, Jim is currently working as a scenic carpenter at Florida Stage in Manalapan. He would like to thank Joe Adler for casting him; Lou Tyrell, Nan Barnett, Richard Crowell, Mark Rapach and Josh Aune for allowing him to take time away from the Florida Stage shop to be a part of this production; Robert Hooker, Tony Priddy, and all the Solsters, past and present, who have been his chosen family for the past six years; and, of course, Glen, who has put up with him for thirty years.
KIM MORGAN (Kathleen O'Malley) is originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and thrilled to be making her GableStage debut. She graduated from the University of Tampa in May of 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre. Some of her favorite roles include Sally Simpson in The Who's Tommy, Catherine in A View from the Bridge, Pam in Baby and the Baker's Wife in Into the Woods (for which she received an Irene Ryan scholarship nomination). Most recently, Kim was seen at Florida Repertory Theatre as Rosalind in Moon Over Buffalo and Giacinta in Scapino.
EDNA SCHWAB (Nurse, Eliza, Matron) worked with Teatro Avante and the International Hispanic Theatre Festival where she performed in both Spanish and English, in such plays as A Streetcar Named Desire by Tennessee Williams, and The Holy Terrors by Jean Cocteau among many others. At Dreamers Theatre she played the Queen in an adaptation of The Just Assassins. In recent years she worked with New Theatre in productions of A Perfect Ganesh by Terrence McNally, Love Letters by A. R. Gurney, Unmerciful Good Fortune by Edwin Perez, The Book of Ruth by Mario Diament and the Pulitzer Prize winning Anna in the Tropics by Nilo Cruz. She is thrilled to be making her GableStage debut. After a 22 year career in banking, she entered academia in 1986 as an administrator at the University of Miami where she is Assistant to the Vice President for University Communications. Prior to joining University Communications, she was Assistant to the Dean of the School of Architecture, to the director of Equality Administration and to the Deputy Dean for Medical Education at the Miller School of Medicine. She is a board member of Teatro Avante, the founding organization of the International Hispanic Theatre Festival with which has been involved for over twenty years.
