JOHN BIXLERJOHN BIXLER (Laurence) is ecstatic to be working with Joe Adler again. John's South Florida career includes work at Actors' Playhouse, The Caldwell Theater, New Theatre, and Fresco Productions. John originated the roles of Roy in The Penguin Tango and Elliot in Stephen Svoboda's Odysseus Died From AIDS, which won Best Ensemble Performance at the 2004 New York International Fringe Festival. John also received an Artie Award for his portrayal of Carl in The Baltimore Waltz with Buffalo United Artists. He graduated magna cum laude with a BFA from Ohio University. John is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association.


 

DEBORAH L. SHERMANDEBORAH L. SHERMAN (Neasa) is returning to GableStage after having last appeared here as Julia Bryant in Ten Unknowns (Best Supporting Actress Miami Sun Post 2004). Deborah was most recently seen in The Promethean Theatre's productions of Two Sisters and a Piano as Maria Celia and as Angelica Maren in the World Premiere of Red Tide also at TPT. Ms. Sherman will be reprising her role in Red Tide when it travels to the Minnesota Fringe Festival later this summer. Some of her other local acting credits include Lindy Love in House and Garden (Actor's Playhouse); Rosannah Deluce in Brilliant Traces (Hollywood Playhouse, Dir. John Rodaz); Emilia in Othello, Olivia in Twelfth Night and originating the role of Conchita in the World Premiere of Anna in the Tropics, winner of the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and Best New Play, (New Times Best of Miami in 2003, New Theatre); Laura in The Glass Menagerie (Runner-up Best Actress Miami Sun Post 2002, Theatre Illuminata). Regional Credits include Phebe in As You Like It, Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker, Steve in Cry Havoc, Tansy in The Nerd; Betty in Wife Begins at Forty and the World Premiere of Richard Janero's play, Unwavering Light: Einstein in 1905 at Grand Valley State in Grand Rapids, MI. Deborah is Co-Founder and Producing Artistic Director of The Promethean Theatre and Julian's mommy.


 

RICKY WAUGHRICKY WAUGH (Ian) is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association and is thrilled to finally be working with Joe Adler at GableStage. Mr. Waugh made his South Florida debut in the Vietnam War drama Medal of Honor Rag at The M Ensemble Theatre Company in North Miami. From 2005 to 2007, Ricky was a company member of The PlayGround Theatre for Young Audiences in Miami Shores; performing in shows such as Pluft the Little Ghost, Brooklyn Bridge, The Love of Three Oranges, The Beast, The Steadfast Tin Soldier, Arthur Miller's Creation of the World and Other Business, and A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings. He also appeared last summer as part of New Theatre's Shakespeare Festival, performing feature roles in The Tragedy of Cymbeline, Julius Caesar, and Saint Joan. Recently, The Theatre League of South Florida bestowed Mr. Waugh with the Silver Palm Award for his Outstanding Performances in Nilo Cruz's Two Sisters and a Piano (Promethean Theatre) and The Mission (New Theatre). Ricky would especially like to thank Jeanette Taylor for her love and guidance.


 

GREGG WEINERGREGG WEINER (John) is thrilled to continue his work here at GableStage, where he was last seen in The Accomplices playing various roles and was lucky enough to play Tupolski in Pillowman (Best Play Carbonell Winner). Prior to The Accomplices, he played Professor Loesser in Palm Beach Dramaworks' production of The Fourth Wall (Best Ensemble - NewTimes Broward/Palm Beach). Other plays include That Championship Season, Dealer's Choice, Summer Shorts 2004-2006, Betty's Summer Vacation and Three Penny Opera, just to name a few. Gregg has dabbled in TV (Guest Star in FX's - It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia) and some commercials. He appears in his big screen debut in Transporter 2 as a Russian bad guy scientist. Gregg currently lives in New York City and is a proud member of Actors' Equity Association. Gregg would like to thank Joe for this gift of a role and the cast and crew for their support, Scott Genn for his hours of running lines with him, and Julie and Lola for being patient with his life and joining him in Florida so that he has something at home to love besides his Xbox 360.
