CHARLIE BECKER (Dottie) holds a BFA in acting from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC. She has
performed in countless stage performances since childhood, as well as film, TV, print, regional and
national commercials. She has worked for MTV, FOX, NBC, The Cosby Show on CBS and her
favorite, Sex and the City on HBO. Contemporary credits include (from her favorite playwright,
Paula Vogel) Anna in The Baltimore Waltz, the title role in Desdemona, and
Charlene in Hot 'n Throbbing. Classical roles include Lady Percy in Henry IV,
Rosalind in As You Like It, Viola in Twelfth Night and Celimene in Neil
Bartlett's Misanthrope. Charlie makes her Florida debut at GableStage and would like to thank
Adell, Charlie, Don and Jackson for all of their love and support.
DAVID CAPRITA (Killer Joe) is happy to be doing his debut performance at GableStage and to be
working with Joseph Adler again. Some of David's favorite roles have been in Adler's productions of
Road to Nirvana, The Root and Glengarry Glen Ross. He has appeared in many TV
shows and films including My Girl, The Specialist, Walker: Texas Ranger and several
commercials he did while in LA, such as the infamous "Brutus" in a Skytel spot that aired last year.
He can be seen later this year in an upcoming episode of the new TV show, Grapevine. David has
been on South Florida's airwaves since the late 70s, most notably on the LOVE 94 morning show for ten
years. He studied acting locally until leaving his lucrative radio job to pursue his dream of being a
starving Los Angeles actor, where he studied for three years at the Sanford Meisner Theater as well as
many workshops and seminars. David is relieved to be back home.
KEN CLEMENT (Ansel) was born and raised in South Florida. He studied acting with Barbara Lowery
at MDCC-North, where he began playwriting and saw his original scripts, The Death and Times of
B. Drew Bishop and Spearholder, produced at the MDCC-North Studio Theatre. Ken
relocated to Los Angeles in 1987, receiving his Bachelors degree in Theatre from the California Institute
of the Arts Theatre Conservatory. He studied fencing and stage combat, receiving certification from the
Society of American Fight Directors. This led to employment as Fight Choreographer at the Occidental
Summer Theatre Festival. In addition, he taught workshops and choreographed sword-fights and staged
violence for Romeo and Juliet, Othello, As You Like It, Oklahoma and others. His performances
at the Festival included Moonface in Anything Goes, Dr. Chumbley in Harvey and
roles in the Devil's Disciple, Comedy of Errors and Shadowlands. Other L.A.
credits include MacDuff in MacBeth at the Dramatic New Arts Theatre, Shakespeare in
Damnit Shakespeare at the Globe and PooBah in the Mikado at the Avalon Theatre. Ken
also continued writing, and saw his original works, Rhinohead and Condorguy
produced. Since returning to Miami, Ken has appeared in The Compleat History of America, Abridged
at Florida Shakespeare, Sleepwalkers at Area Stage, The Typist at
Timba and the Children's Theatre productions of Namia and Christmas Carol at
Actors Playhouse.
PAMELA ROZA (Sharla) is very happy to be returning to GableStage. Last January, she played Kyra
Hollis in GableStage's production of Skylight, also directed by Joseph Adler. Back when it was
Florida Shakespeare Theatre, Pamela played Emelia in The Othello Project, a 60s rural-south
twist of Shakespeare's Othello. Most recently, Pamela was Li'l Bit in How I Learned
to Drive at New Theatre in Coral Gables, where she also performed as Harper Pitt in Angels in
America, Seta in Beast on the Moon, Princess Aouda in Around the World in 80 Days
and Laura in The Glass Menagerie, to name a few. This summer, she was at the Area
Stage, where she performed (along with Ken Clement) in the Carbonell Award winning production of
Sleepwalkers. Previously at the Area Stage, Pam appeared as Martha in Careless Love.
Other favorite roles locally have been Marlene in Mill Fire with ACME Acting Company, and
Emily in the Shores Performing Arts Theatre production of Our Town, also directed by Joseph
Adler. Look for Pamela this spring at New Theatre in Rafael de Acha's production of The Book of
Ruth, a new play by Mario Diament.
MARK WHITTINGTON (Chris) recently finished a reading with Florida Stage's debut of The
Wooden Breeks. Some of his local credits include the Kravis Center's production of
Monsoon Christmas as Pruger and Clifford in Deathrap at Stage Door. Other credits
include Romeo in Romeo " Juliet, Allan in Equus (with Rutger Hauer), Eugene
in Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues, and Petya in The Cherry
Orchard with the Moscow Arts Theatre. National and international touring credits include Mike in
A Chorus Line, Cousin Kevin in Tommy and Aladdin in Aladdin. Film
and television credits include Party of Five, The Box and Mysteries with the BBC.
