Headshot and resume stapled together upon  arrival; Please prepare: two (2) contemporary  monologues that are 2 mins each of (a)  Comedic (b) Dramatic.

Productions will be performed indoors at the  GableStage Theatre 

Appointment slots will be 10 mins each with 6 auditions per hour. (Ex: 10am – 10:10am;  10:10am -10:20am ; 10:20 – 10:30am ; 10:30am – 10:40am; 10:40am – 10:50am ;  10:50am- 11:00am)  

15 min break times as required by Equity: 12:00pm-12:15pm; 2:15pm-3pm (includes lunch break); 5:00pm- 5:15pm. 

An Equity Monitor will not be provided. The producer will run all aspects of this audition.

HEISENBERG by Simon Stephens 

Synopsis: Heisenbergis love story about a chance encounter between a 42-year-old mother and a 75-year-old butcher, and the chain of events it sets in motion. Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, Georgie spots Alex, a much older man, and plants a kiss on his neck. This electric encounter thrusts these two strangers into a fascinating and life-changing game. Simon Stephenssharply original HEISENBERG brings to blazing, theatrical life the uncertain and often comical sparring match that is human connection. 


GEORGIE BURNS, CAST. A 42-year-old woman from New Jersey. 

ALEX PRIEST, a 75-year-old butcher from Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland. 

WE WILL NOT BE SILENT by David Meyers 

Synopsis: “We Will Not Be Silent” tells the true story of Sophie Scholl, a German college student who led the only act of civil resistance to the Nazis during World War II. Sophie and her fellow students, members of a group called the White Rose, published underground anti-Nazi materials calling for the peaceful overthrow of Hitler. This play examines the moral strength and courage that led a group of students to risk their lives for a righteous, dangerous cause. The play is potently relevant today, as modern Sophie Scholls fight for freedom and democracy in various places across the world. 



KURT GRUNWALD, late 40s, a Nazi police officer. 


A DOLL’S HOUSE, PART 2 by Lucas Hnath 

Synopsis: Fifteen years ago, Nora left her husband, Torvald and as the door slams on her exit in 1879 Norway, the young wife and mother leaves behind her family, freeing herself from the shackles of traditional societal constraints. Lucas Hnaths Tony-nominated A Dolls House, Part 2 picks up where  Ibsens groundbreaking play left off. In the years since, the two have had no contact. Nora has become a successful feminist writer, while Torvald continued to work at the bank and raised their children on his own. Now, Nora has learned that, contrary to what she believed, she and Torvald were never actually divorced. She returns to her old home to request Torvald finally grant her a divorce. But after all thats happened, will Torvald be willing to give her what she wants? After all this time, is Nora prepared to face what she left behind? 


NORA, CAST. Late 40s-50s. Nora is a successful feminist author. Left her husband 15 years ago.

TORVALD HELMER, CAST. Late 40’s-60’s. Long-abandoned husband of Nora.

ANNE MARIE, 60’s. Nanny/nursemaid of the Helmer household. 

EMMY HELMER, Early 20’s. Youngest child of Nora and Torvald. 

EL HURACÁN by Charise Castro Smith 

Synopsis: An epic hurricane threatens Miami. A mother and daughter ready themselves for the storm as Abuela takes shelter in a world of memory, music, and magic. VALERIA, 70’s. A former magician, Miranda’s grandmother, Ximena’s mom. She has advanced  Alzeimer’s. 

XIMENA, 50’s . Valeria’s daughter and caretaker, Miranda’s mom. She’s exhausted.

MIRANDA, 20’s. A perpetual grad student, Valeria’s granddaughter, Ximena’s daughter. She’s lost.

ALICIA/ DR. KEMPLER, Valeria’s younger sister/ A neurologist. 

FERNANDO, 20’s. Miranda’s old family friend. 

ALONSO, 60’s. A former magician’s assistant. Valeria’s husband, Ximena’s dad, Miranda’s  grandfather. 


XIMENA, 80’s. Played by the actress who played Ximena in Part One. 

ALONSO, 60’s. Played by the actor who played Alonso in Part One. 

THEO, 20’s. Miranda’s cousin’s son. Played by the actor who played Fernando in Part One.

MIRANDA, 50’s. Played by the actress who played Miranda in Part One. 

VAL, 20’s. Miranda’s daughter. Played by the actress who played Alicia in Part One.

VALERIA, 80’s. Played by the actress who played Valeria in Part One. 

NATIVE GARDENS by Karen Zacarias 

Synopsis: You cant choose your neighbors. In this brilliant new comedy, cultures and gardens clash, turning well-intentioned neighbors into feuding enemies. Pablo, a rising attorney, and doctoral  candidate Tania, his very pregnant wife, have just purchased a home next to Frank and Virginia, a  well-established D.C. couple with a prize-worthy English garden. But an impending barbeque for Pablo s colleagues and a delicate disagreement over a long-standing fence line soon spirals into an all-out  border dispute, exposing both couplesnotions of race, taste, class and privilege. 


TANIA DEL VALLE, 29 (late 20’s /early 30’s), doctoral candidate who is 8 months pregnant, wife of  Pablo. 

PABLO DEL VALLE, 31 (early 30’s), Tania’s husband, attorney, very serious about making partner in  law firm. 

VIRGINIA BUTLEY, CAST. 55-65, neighbor of Tania and Pablo, wife of Frank. 

FRANK BUTLEY, CAST. 55-65, Virginia’s husband, neighbor of Tania and Pabl
