About the Playwright:
Golden Globe and Academy Award winning filmmaker Charise Castro Smith is a playwright, tv writer, screenwriter, director and actor originally from Miami. Her playwrighting credits include EL HURACÁN (Yale Rep) and FEATHERS AND TEETH (Goodman Theatre). Television credits include THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE (Netflix), THE EXORCIST (Fox) and SWEETBITTER (Starz). Feature credits include ENCANTO (Walt Disney Animation Studios). M.F.A Yale School of Drama.
