“King” LeBron James’ reign in Cleveland brings promise, prosperity, and renewal to a city in desperate need of all three. It also brings together two unlikely friends in a bond forged by fandom. Told over twelve years (from LeBron’s rookie season to an NBA Championship) King James is a clever, fast-paced comedy by Pulitzer Finalist Rajiv Joseph.
Actors Melvin Huffnagle (August Wilson’s How I Learned What I Learned) and Gregg Weiner (The Price) star in this intimate chronicle of two friends whose turbulent relationship is best navigated through their shared love of basketball.
“…shoots and scores!” – New York Stage

It was so well acted with a lot of energy!! It was so amazing how they could memorize so many lines.
Good in depth picture of Friendship

Thus was an excellent 2 man performance. The set was extremely authentic and intricate. Very creatively performed, interspersed with video.

I thoroughly enjoyed King James. The acting was superb with a great story line. Thank you Gregg Weiner and Melvin Huffnagle for a great performance!

A Must-See Experience at GableStage! We had the pleasure of seeing King James at GableStage, and it was fantastic! One highlight was the talk with the producer before the performance, which offered great insights into the production process. The interactive discussion with the actors afterward was a unique touch that deepened our appreciation for the play.

I am very pleased with the first play of the 24-25 Season @Gables Stage Theater. Great profound play about frindship and family relationships. Not at all what I expected. Fantastic actors and screen play. Happy to have been a subscriber for over 30 years.
Runtime: 2 hours (includes one 15 min. intermission)
