GableStage 2025/26 General Auditions

Date: MONDAY JUNE 2, 2025 AND TUESDAY JUNE 3, 2025

Location: GableStage, 1200 Anastasia Ave, Coral Gables, Florida 33134

Preparation: Please come prepared with two contemporary monologues that are 2 minutes each of (a) Comedic (b) Dramatic.

Auditions will be held from 10am – 8pm on both dates. Appointment slots will be 10 minutes each with 6 auditions per hour. (Ex: 10am – 10:10am; 10:10am – 10:20am etc.)

There will be a one (1) hour break at 2:00pm – 3:00pm – No appointments will be scheduled during this time.

**ALREADY CAST** PHILLIP BRUGGLESTEIN / HARRY CLARKE: 40s, male 

  1. LEFT ON TENTH by Delia Ephron, based on her memoir. Directed by Bari Newport.

First Rehearsal: 10/28/25

Opening: 11/21/25

Closing: 12/21/25 (Possible extension to 12/28/25)

Characters:

– DELIA: somewhere north of fifty, a writer, girlish, funny, emotional, and very alive
– PETER: : somewhere north of fifty, a psychiatrist/Jungian psychoanalyst, intense, confident, an outdoor guy
– FEMALE ACTOR actor plays the other female parts
– MALE ACTOR actor plays the other male parts

  1. SOTTO VOCE. Written and directed by Nilo Cruz.

First Rehearsal: 12/29/25

Opening: 1/23/26

Closing: 2/15/26

Characters:

– Bemadette Kahn: An eighty-year-old woman who has aged gracefully; time has been good to her and she looks more like she’s in her sixties
– Saquiel Rafaeli: A twenty-eight-year-old man of Jewish- Cuban descent; he is passionate and romantic; he has worked hard at creating a unique and bohemian look for himself; also plays Ariel Strauss: A man in his twenties
– Lucila Pulpo: A woman in her thirties; although she appears to be tough, it is all a veneer to protect her fragile soul; also plays Nina Strauss: A woman in her twenties

  1. PRAYER FOR THE FRENCH REPUBLIC by Joshua Harmon. Directed by Bari Newport.

MEIKO, female, late thirties, a landscape architect. A single mother by choice, of Olivia. A rationalizer. Except in scene 4, she is always knitting. Hapa.
ELI, male, mid thirties, a hobbyist: expert pickler, competitive rock climber, manager of family wealth. Father of Tobias. A utilitarian. White.
CARINA, female, late thirties, an affordable housing advocate. Mother of Victor. An optimist. African-American.
