Resident Dramaturg

GableStage seeks passionate and experienced theatre professional to join venerable Coral Gables theatre company for its 24/25 Season as Resident Dramaturg. Resident dramaturg is responsible for researching, advising and shaping all five theatrical productions; creating historical and cultural notes for the cast and internal creative teams; lead pre-show discussions with patrons before every performance; work with director on adapting and providing context for company’s Shakespeare in the Schools 2025 tour of Hamlet; create interactive audience guides for students and patrons. This role requires a deep understanding of theater, excellent research skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Resident Dramaturg will ideally cover all responsibilities and roles described below. Salary ranges from $8,000 – $23,000 depending on ability to take on some or all of the positions listed.

This is a Part-time position. Both on-site at the theatre company’s Biltmore Hotel home and work from home.
