Synopsis
Having premiered at Lincoln Center, this musical explores the fires burning beneath the surface of a marriage. The Reverend James Morrell is an energetic Socialist, a man after Shaw’s own closely guarded heart. He and his wife, Candida, are happily married – or at least they think they are — until a romantic young poet enters the scene, turning their world upside-down.
“REMARKABLE! That rarity of rarities, an adaptation of a major play that improves decisively on its source material. I long to see it again—and again.”- The Wall Street Journal
